A Solitary Journey

Who
sorts out
the poet
giving a voice
to your unuttered
despair left in the wake?
I cannot run to you now.
We survived the end of our world,
unfortunately not each other.
Paths once united, just dust from our past.

  1. OMG, Susi!! This is such a stunning poem!! So deep, moving and filled with the pain of the truth!!!
I Adored your last lines – Wow!
We survived the end of our world,
    unfortunately not each other.
Paths once united, just dust from our past.
I’m depositing these in my word bank as a gem of inspiration and hoping for a blossom someday soon!!! Your ending really playing rough and hard on my heartstrings!!! Please consider this a candidate for the “Best of Susi” book!!
Loved the photo too – really captured the feel – walking away in the wind!! Stunning!!
    Bellissimo, Susi, simply Bellissimo!!
I told you that you had a gem and just as I was getting ready to hit post comment I read your last three lines again and Wham! I got something. I guess this is what the good part of fishing feels like. I will send you a copy on email. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!! Here is my definition of a good/great poet – “A good poet’s words reach out and touch the heart of the reader and make them glad they read the poem”!! Five stars for You, Susi!! 💖💖💖💋💋🌹😃

      1. Ha! Don’t blush, My Dear!! Bask in the praise and glory of how your words reached out and touched my heart!!! I can only tell you it is magic when someone’s words inspire your heart and soul and plant a seed of inspiration that blossoms into a poem. You are now one of my “Inspirators”!! It is really super when what you wrote does this to someone. I have had it happen a few times and there is nothing quite like it!! So happy to have this happen to you, Dear Susi!!
