it’s taken years
to silence the frustration within me
fomented by the uneducated, misinformed and willfully ignorant
the things they say are detrimental
to our well-being and existence on this planet
cohabitation with those who wish us harm
is not the kind of world i want to live in
they wouldn’t know an informed decision
even if it came up and introduced itself
no progressive action stands a chance in the hands of the stupid
as they continue to breed disinformation
while i fear for our future
i’m learning to let go of unproductive anger
and turning off the desire to engage
or even trying to educate a non-existent intellect
they are beyond help
they are the die-hard ignorant amongst us
i will leave it to the professionals
to change their minds and hearts
we are capable
of so much more
than just instinct
logic and reasoning
of the thought process
develop original ideas
structure concise arguments
make sound decisions
commit to following through on thoughts
debate your decisions rationally
a critical thinker
one’s developed rationale
guides better decisions
turning experiences into lessons
humble and wise
thinkers value the power
of people drawing the best conclusions
one doesn’t come across it often
this feat of lyrical astuteness
witnessed in written puzzles
i applaud these cerebral metaphors
enlightening us in phrases
challenging us with humor
to all the creators
with intelligence and sharp wit
a well-deserved hat tip
when life throws
the consequences of living
in the path
of its inhabitants
a reaction ensues
what will it be…
those who are gauche
spew an urge
with their splenetic
the attentive passersby
by the few impressed
while the majority
as reason holds
… and the sensible go on

Bad ideas should burn.
Heaps of ashes everywhere.
Food for better ones.
