SenHai Saturday #29

Here is this week’s image to get your creative juices flowing!

From the photographer – “a white picture frame sitting on top of a lush green wall.”

Please create one senryu and one haiku to accompany this image prompt. Remember that a traditional haiku describes nature or a season, while a senryu focuses on human nature and emotions.

Then, provide a link in the comments below or ping back to this post on your blog.

Here is a wrap-up of last week’s prompt. I appreciate each of you for sharing your thoughts!

Cozy

there’s a slowdown
in the gelid season
time for mentation
in the warm comfort
of our choosing
becoming esemplastic
with the couch
in front of a fire
with hot cocoa
and a good book

To Me

hands
hold mine
giving me hope
lifting up my spirits
precious

Thanks for reminding me about Elfchens, Chuck! ;)

Feeling Homesick

home sweet home
you feel so far away
on this sad and lonely journey
traversing these difficult roads
trying to take care
as i find my way back
to your comfort and protection

Welcome Home

A meandering walk through the forest
smoothed the rough edges of the day,
one filled to the brim with the tediousness
of digits and maddening phone calls.

In the backdrop of shrills and chirps,
stress rolls down the spine and away,
deep breaths in bringing ever quicker relief
as fresh air and sunshine cling like a loved ones hug.

Nature’s smells and sounds have a way
of embedding in our bodies, releasing
the tension so tightly packed in us.
Every little bit we are begins to reconnect to Mother.
