they are the joy that surrounds you
while immersing yourself in them
their presence helps us to know things
to grow our horizons for more possibilities

Books “take you to new worlds.” This is my favorite thing about them ❤️ You write, “books understand our needs,” something I have never considered, but I agree. Lovely poem!

Yes, they do! Same for me. It feels exciting, relaxing, or whatever emotion the books evoke, but it always feels like every care in my world fades away. Thanks, Lisa!

So true, Susi. I can relate. I have a good collection of books. Still adding, though can’t read much due to eye problem. I can’t resist.

While I wish I could have so many more, I’m beginning to get more books on my Kindle. If I had a library, it would be packed! lol Thanks so much, Indira! Sorry to hear about an eye problem, but audio books are thankfully a solution!

I was most definitely a book-lover in my younger years … and still have many on my bookshelves. But as age has added its years, I can rarely spend more than 15-30 minutes with a book nowadays. Sad. but true.

:_( I bet the books miss you, Nan! I’ve been a voracious reader since I was young. Not sure what or who instilled that in me, but I’ve always loved them. Or maybe I should say I’ve always loved WORDS. I will agree with you though that I spend less time them though. And for that I’m sad too.
