Moonwashed Weekly Prompt – Writer’s Choice
we live in an uneasy world
where “the basis of optimism is sheer terror”**
while we create a facade
the happy face people are accustomed to
we move gingerly so as not to disturb life’s delicate balance
but beneath it all
we are quivering with fear
one plot twist away from disaster
always hoping for the best outcome
but prepared for the worst
may things always turn out to our satisfaction

Brilliant take, Susi. Regardless of the reason, we must remain optimistic, as hope is our only salvation.

We can hope things will turn out as we wish but, sometimes it’s best they don’t. Well done and great image.

Factual poem! Optimism and hope are the only options in certain situations.

It would be nice if things turned out as we wish. Sometimes the alternatives are better than we ever anticipated.
