we live in an uneasy world

while we create a facade
the happy face people are accustomed to
we move gingerly so as not to disturb life’s delicate balance
but beneath it all
we are quivering with fear
one plot twist away from disaster
always hoping for the best outcome
but prepared for the worst
may things always turn out to our satisfaction
