I could hear the witches in the distance; their whispers carried on the winds. Their words pierced the heart of the innocent victim they encircled as the smell of burning herbs wafted in my direction, even with the wind shifts. Mother Earth trembled in response to the incantations as the spark of an idea blossomed, and then a thousand pearls of wisdom thread through my brain like vines. I will stop them from harming anyone else! But first, I must head back to the town, treading lightly on the cobbled stones lest they hear my steps. Their end is near.

Now this could be a happy ending or . . .
Love it, Susi!
