The Seduction

The dust settled, the magic of the evening thick in the air. He reached for the remote, his eyes meeting hers in the dim, misty light. She felt the scrape of his hand against hers, and a spark ignited. The strum of his guitar, a soft tune that echoed their unspoken feelings, hung lazily in the air. “Follow me,” he whispered, pulling her closer. His fresh breath tantalized her, and the string of candles atop the fireplace flickered, their light casting shadows on their faces. A minor chord filled the room, and they finally met in a slippery, sweet kiss.

**I decided to try ChatGPT to construct a 100 word story utilizing all the words in order, and to make it a romantic one. It started off fairly well, but it left out the word string completely, so I had to weave that into it. The way it had inserted the word strum was a bit awkward, so I altered that along with some other tweeks, here and there. With the changes being made, I had to adjust it somewhat to fit in the parameter of 100 words, but other than that, I was actually amazed how well it did. Of course, I don’t want AI to completely replace what we do, but it was an interesting experience.

  1. I think AI has a place – writing business memos or maybe ad copy. But has no place in creative writing…. It scares me that soon the use of AI will take over poetry and writing novels…. It will be a grievous loss.

  2. The first reading seemed like the best to me, but when I read your clarification that it was made by AI, I was left thinking, how many poems will reach us artificially created? I’m afraid to think that the originality will soon be lost.
