rum, whiskey, and other alcohol
is now identified as a poison
it’s amazing
that we do learn about the dangers
yet pirates
will never do so
they want the adventure
they choose hazardously
they don’t care about the outcome
only the experience
to maybe reap a reward
a possible improvement in their lives
they want a better outcome
from their dastardly deeds
does it ever really work that way?

It’s supposed to work that way but there are examples of when it hasn’t quite worked out that way, sadly!! But you have to know a little history to not quite trust that old idea/saying!!!
