our younger versions
filled with noetic pursuits
vibrant
and chronically stimulated
we grow as we involve our senses
the unknown tests us
to establish the known
we discover within
until the day we are…
a faint shadow of our quondam state
having slowed
mind, body, and soul
awaiting the inevitable

Beautiful. Very thought provoking… so much packed into so little 😎👏

These three lines really speak to me.
we grow as we involve our senses
the unknown tests us
to establish the known
I enjoyed thinking about your poem.

Lovely poem, and yes getting older is inevitable. Sometimes it is difficult to believe so many years have passed.

Thank you, Diana! Yes, I realize that I’ve lived many years, but dang, did they have to go by so quickly?!?!
