Patience Wearing Thin

Our fates are sometimes crappy—the flight was canceled, same as our moods. Wishing my attitude was more whimsical; I could only trash-talk my situation. My boarding pass dangling from my hand made me suffer in silence. I would leap at the chance to get an earlier flight, but I had to be satisfied with the songs in my ear to drown out my disappointment from the storm that created this situation in Dallas. So, I started writing poetry, hoping that would grant me some peace from the anxiety whirring around me that this trip had caused me. I be clicking.

***Based on a true story from today. lol

  1. Oh, the woes of traveling. I spent many a night in airports due to canceled flights. The last time I traveled by air it was a nightmare and my flight was canceled three times due to inclement weather. Finally, I boarded my flight and the crew was aware of the passengers frustrations and served free drinks. I was never so relieved to be home.

  2. Our fate seems crappy because we don’t know the “whole story” behind the events unfolding in our lives. Your day was crappy, you faced some bad, very bad situations. That doesn’t make your fate crappy. Only if we all knew the entire story going on behind the canvas of our life, would we be finally be a little bit at peace with ourselves and our situations :)

  3. So many stuck and cancelled because of storms in our area, that just don’t stop!! DFW is our airport. My Sister-in-law had to wait two full days before she could get a flight home that wasn’t cancelled or delayed due to weather…..
