Redux
Broken lives and stolen dreams.
Our past owned us.
Then I broke free.
You remained bound.
Moving forward was not your gig.
Clinging to safety in the known.
I was searching for more than
dying in the doldrums of security.
Sanity was calling my name.

Hi, Susi! This is a great poem! So relatable to me! Xo

<3 Thank you, Carol Anne! I'm happy that you liked it, sorry that it is relatable though. Life shouldn't be that tough!

I love this, Susi. We all have to break free of our invisible chains. 😍

Yes, we do! They’d hold us back otherwise. And I for one, am not willing to forfeit on my dreams.

I would rather move forward when I retire.

Breaking ties that hold you down to situations that are unfixable is wise.

Agreed! Yet, I see so many who don’t break their chains. It’s sad when you know there is so much potential.
