The room began to spin as the breath left my body and the risk of falling—imminent. Drippy-looking surfacing beads of sweat appeared on my face, every hair thread in my bangs becoming moisture-filled. I realized I needed to sit down immediately or risk injury. The skins of previously killed mammals at my feet didn’t look inviting, yet they were my only option as my complexion took on the color of cream cheese. Sorry, Mr. Bear, I’m fainting. The bare spots of the floor got slippery when I dropped my glass of water, along with the pregnancy test, to the ground.
