life’s complicated journey
ebbs ever nearer to an end
with a gingered sky on the horizon
signaling a burst of recollections
as the aura of light begins to dim
memory is all around us, as well as within
as we begin the steps toward never returning
life will flash before our eyes
our bodies reacting to all the catalysts
transporting us to before
do we relive to regret or to feel a smile emerge?
