Priorities

Untitled

you had the life
you could afford
made your dreams
come true

tons of money
all the luxury
long, unending workdays
stress, stress, stress

exhausted and driven
but did you get
any chance
to enjoy your life

  1. Sorry Susi, This is just an observation.

Priorities is in past tense, as if there is no future for this person. “but did you get any chance to enjoy your life” to me, sounds like it is over. Usually you leave hope for change in your writing. I missed that.

    1. Ah, now I understand! Yes, I guess it could be the case but this was more about Type A personalities who seem to kill themselves with a manic frenzy. The last question asked is more of a helpful tool for them to evaluate their actions. And this is why writing/reading is great! Leaves so much room for interpretation. :)

  2. fantastic post! I learned a few years ago that I’m happier without the stress of better paid jobs. It’s something I stick to now, as does my partner, we see each other for about 4 hours a day more than we used to about 4 years ago :)
