Elisha Ager

Tired

Lacking energy,
Passion drops like the climate,
A long slog ahead.

Boreas

Cold seeps into bones,
I ponder the sweeping wind,
On his trip up north.

Persevere

Shimmering glass stars,
Frost shatters into fragments,
The illusion lifts.

Vibrance

A monochrome world,
White fields below black heavens,
But, orange hues dawn.

Cozy

There, in the darkness,
Bright warmth in a log cabin,
Joy will rise again.

Rain

Crystals on windows,
Pitter patter, the drops laugh,
I will sit and read.

Vol 1 The Sound of Brilliance and Vol 2 Reflections & Revelations on Amazon

Goutam Dutta

Development

A home is razed…
On hitherto tranquil space
A hundred apartments.

Natural Contrast

Outside the window…
Cooing in unison
Pigeons black and white

Troubled

Morning serenity…
Awakened by
An anxious mind.

A Cup of Tea

Cloudy skies
A cup of tea, rusty-red and smelling of the earth
Monsoon flush.

Changing climate

Less rainfall…
All the darkness
On the faces of earthlings.

Meet

Old friends…
Wispy smoke from the teacups
Warms up their chatter.

Darkness

Dazzling city lights….
All the darkness
Inside lonely hearts.

gentle lullaby
rain tapping rhythmically
a soothing slumber

Angry Skies

the storm slithers in
poised so cool preparing to strike
like a dangerous snake
approaching its prey
until it erupts with chaos

the billowing anger
forging a destructive path
beware and protect yourself
for danger is all around now
your luck may have run out

Autumn

Season of fall
Few fallen leaves cling to us…
We carry the memories.

Lockdown during pandemic

Lockdown…
Hospital full of Corona patients
Empty local train.

Re-opening post 2nd wave

Post lockdown….
Swimming towards morning walkers
Fishes at the lake.

Twilight hues

Vibrant twilight hues…
The sky resplendent in pink
Conch shells herald dusk

Riding through country roads

Swathe of green and blue
Hues bordering the road…
Traveller’s delight.

Onset of Monsoon

Onset of monsoon…
Parched earth scans the horizon
Sweat oozes from pores.

Onset of monsoon…
Blotch of black at horizon
Dance of the peacock.

Onset of monsoon…
Dark clouds come floating with breeze
Fingers type a poem.

Onset of monsoon…
Hanging raindrops swing with breeze
Shades of grey all day.

Facades

Wearing your best vest
Is not necessarily a truthful test
A facade for a restless chest

Again

Summer’s golden plains
And stormy rains
Erase winter stains

After Twilight

Starry, starry nights
Shine on, shine on bright
Please stay, please stay within sight

Earthquake

I feel the earth quake
Fracturing tears off my soul
Tremors from my heart

Hail

Hailstones, hard as nails
Falling frozen razor blades
Storm’s icy sharp balls

Hot, Summer Nights

rounding the bend
towards home
with windows down
to let moist heat
in the winds
tousle and whip my hair
towards my face

one hand on the wheel
the other
out the window
all five digits wriggling
in the invisible pressure
drumming to the beat
of the swirling music

pressures of the day
ease off my forehead
and slide away
from my body
the setting sun
inspires a smile
my essence at ease

Winter Rain

tetchy beginning
water droplets echoing
setting tone today
