SenHai Saturday #20

Here is this week’s image to get your creative juices flowing!

This image is an underwater shot, featuring varying degrees of blue, large rocks on the sea floor, and light shining through from above into the underwater scene. This was taken in Pula, Croatia.

Please create one senryu and one haiku to accompany this image prompt. Remember that a traditional haiku describes nature or a season, while a senryu focuses on human nature and emotions.

Bon Voyage To Me & SenHai Saturday #15 Wrap-up!

Susi Bocks

It’s that time again. :) During August, I will not be posting to my blog at all, nor will I be reading the August posts of the blogs I follow. And I will take a break from social media. I’ve found this does so much for my mental health every year. What I will do is catch up on reading the books on my Kindle and finish any of the July posts from the blogs I follow.

I look forward to immersing myself in The Short of It Submissions. As I was last year, I’m very pleased with the response from both previous poets featured and new ones who have chosen to participate. It’s not even the end of July, and I’ve received close to fifty percent of what I’ll need to feature next year! WOW! I will be forever happy about starting The Short of It! You are all such a wonderful addition to my world! As was the case last year, I will likely have to close the submission cycle early again if the response has been this well-received already. Submit your work as soon as possible, before the deadline closes.

Additionally, this year, I will be turning off all commenting, even on older posts. When I return on September 1, I will turn them back on! Feel free to reach out via email (it’s on my contact page), if you need to get a hold of me.

See you after my much-needed rest! :)

Here is last week’s prompt. I hope you enjoy these wonderful contributions to SenHai Saturday as much as I did!

SenHai Saturday #15

Here is this week’s image to get your creative juices flowing!

This week’s image offers a glimpse of a small section of beach, with waves crashing onto the sand. The water touching the tan sand is a foamy white, and the water is primarily deep blue, with a lighter blue hue throughout.

Please create one senryu and one haiku to accompany this image prompt. Remember that a traditional haiku describes nature or a season, while a senryu focuses on human nature and emotions.

**NOTE – The wrap-up for this will post on Thursday, July 31, as I’m taking the month of August off for some well-deserved rest and relaxation! And yes, there will be a beach involved. That’s the reason for this week’s image. ;)

SenHai Saturday #14

Here is this week’s image to get your creative juices flowing!

This image features a lovely greenish bokeh effect in the background. The central part of the image appears to be the profile of a leaf glistening with tiny droplets of water, with a rather large, precarious water drop hanging onto the end of it.

Here is this week’s image to get your creative juices flowing!

The image focuses on a red-capped Amanita muscaria mushroom, with a thick, white stalk, and the cap itself is covered in small white warts. It grows right out of the forest floor, and the background shows us the denseness of trees standing tall, slightly out of focus.

Here is this week’s image to get your creative juices flowing!

The scenery in this image is of a mountain range that is covered, looking almost as if it were carpeted with rich, lush fields of moss, bushes, and grassland. In part of the scene, there seems to be a herd of sheep with a person on a horse and a dog keeping every animal together.
