Inspired by What do you see #275
fiercely protective
you are always there for me
wholly accept me
Many years passed before I understood what loving someone meant to me. Having been shaped by two people (and most likely – no, definitely – the third in my immediate family, too), it took the birth of my first child to understand this most basic lesson I should have been privy to during my formative years. Once understood, I was committed to being the kind of person who also deserved love.

A wonderful discovery at any age

Being a mother is the most sincere form of love. A beautiful poem Susi.

Holding the title isn’t a guarantee, actually acting like someone who gave birth to sincerely and deeply connect with their offspring, protect them forever and enjoy watching their little human grow – now, that’s being a mother! Thanks, Sadje!

Oh yes, exactly right my friend. Though it come naturally with the birth of a child, not every biological mother is a good one.

Indeed! And that’s why I thank the birth of my oldest for opening my eyes more. :) Thanks for stopping by, Pat.

You were always deserving of love- I believe that being loved is an inalienable right, and we have the choice to give and or take that love- but not whether or not we are deserving. There are men and women on death row that have spouses and family members that love them immensely- how could we explain that if love was only doles out to those who were found deserving?
I love your poem. I guess I just want to make sure you knew this could be your truth too.

Oh, definitely. I don’t know that it is an inalienable right because when I observe nature, I see the indiscriminate things occur. It’s harsh, and also random. And so, the same with what occurs to us as humans. Again, I would say that we are all deserving but sometimes, it just doesn’t always happen.
I’m happy that you loved the poem, and yes, I do understand, Violet. :) It’s a very good thing to love AND be loved. <3
