Blistered bodies, colored yellow, purple, blue, and red, were strewn about, many with their limbs detached and scattered in various directions. The hearts of the witnesses to this carnage ached with compassion and obvious distress.

Timothy and I, with black bags under our eyes glistening from the streak of our tears, awaited the horrors we were sure to have to endure. I anticipated howls of pain dangling from the ceiling, the captors watching us twirl about.

Timothy’s punishment consisted of three whip lashes, leaving long scars on his back. I could feel his faint quivers when the torture finally ended.
