Redux
Inspired by Reena’s Exploration Challenge Week 63
need strength to walk
away from pleasure and pain
the remnants of our past
keep me connected to you
my brain thunders
with the memories
of our souls being as one
the connection everlasting
a fleeting hope of resurrection
pins me to you still
a false statement of contrition
tires my commitment
stop playing games
with my affection
break this hold
if it’s not real
please let me break free

Susi this is of course the tragic outcome of a jealous and possessive love… Breaking free is had when the other person hold on so very tightly! <3

On a positive note, the sculpture reminds me of an Urdu poet’s lines in a regressive era, addressed to stay-at-home women.
“Uth Meri Jaan, ki mere saath chalna hai tujhe”
English translation
“Get up, my love
for you need to walk with me”.
