natural minds define fate a bit differently
it’s their shoulds realized
the multitude of desires fulfilled
and wanted attainments achieved
not a spiritual happenstance
random shit happens all the time
nothing is destined
be prepared as best you can
because even when you do
it might not help the situation
life isn’t well-executed
or programmed in advance
it’s determined only with our input
painstakingly and methodically brought about
with luck interceding at random moments
That last line says it all! Happy Holidays!

True, and a wonderful poem, Susi! I remember once hearing someone say that our lives are “a series of happy accidents.” Meaning that it’s a miracle we exist at all, and that the things that happen to us are able to happen.

Absolutely! The odds that we’re even alive is incredible. lol Yes, happy accidents but also random crap. And it feels more and more so. Life is teaching us to accept it all. Thanks, Joyce!

And so the wisdom of an older generation is offered to a younger one – and promptly disregarded… And then they learn it the hard way.

True, many do. But, it’s their lives to do with whatever they choose. Thanks for stopping by, Val!
