Creeping dangerously close to the edge of the ridge, right to where the wafer crumbs ended, Josh did not feign being ill at ease. He was terrified, realizing his window of opportunity was closing. He dried the sweat off his brow and touched his ring for luck, hoping an elegy wasn’t in his future.
Josh got his equipment ready; a steady rant of expletives accompanied his efforts. He began to wince as he jammed his finger. His memories made him manic to find Julie. Josh could still feel her warm embrace during the waltz at their wedding. He ached so.
