laying on her side
focusing outside herself
outside the window
at the moon
him on her bed
crushing down
on her youth
babbling incoherently
close to her face
intimate, like she’s his wife
exhaling utterances
laced with beer
scaring this ten year old
into a world
for which she was not equipped
fear gripping every inch of her
‘leave already’ she wishes to herself
not knowing what to do
when he, whom she trusts,
severs the line of decency
*Note – While this was a true event, the child was not raped, thank goodness. However, it left some emotional scars, and trust was broken as certain boundaries were crossed.
Ooooo, Susi. This hit me in the gut like a punch.
“crushing down on her youth” Powerfully penned, Dear Susi. Well done

This is horrifying. It was bad enough to think it poetic license but to have it be based on truth makes my heart hurt.

Very much so. I know it’s hard to talk about these subjects but if poets and writers don’t, then any hope of touching people to fight for the end of these situations will occur less and less.

Too tragic and heartbreaking! No words can express my feelings for such monsters

It is, and it creates a world of dysfunction going forward. If there was one thing I’d want to cure the world of, it’s letting youth, the vulnerable and the innocent escape all harm. Life will throw enough hurt and pain on them without having to endure abuse too.

You’re so right. It does create a viscous cycle. Some of the abusers had been abused themselves.

This is a shocking and powerful description of a horrific breach of trust.

It is indeed a horrific breach of trust. I don’t want to shock but situations like this need to be talked about so there is an end to them. Thank you for commenting, Ingrid.

Omg. Not penetrated, yet assaulted

I think the emotional component is worse because that will linger much longer than physical pain.
