it took a global pandemic
for us to realize
the yin-yang of touch
and precision distancing
in these covid times
the good is the benefit we receive from hugs
the bad, this illness’ consequence
yet we still crave the magic of being held

Beautifully written. I guess to be held and to hold is a deeply ingrained instinct

Thank you, Jude! Yes, definitely. When I think of the comfort of being inside a womb and the nurturing we hopefully received after birth, it stays with us to crave as we continue to develop.

The magic of being hugged!! This is the one thing that has made the distancing harder to bear!

Touching and physical closeness had gone out of the window since this pandemic. Great take on the image.
Thanks for joining in the challenge

Well said, Susi! It’s unfortunate something as simple as a hug is not good for us. 😉 I feel we need a lot of magic now!

Thanks, Eugenia! Not only do we NEED the magic of them but also the reassurance they provide. I felt this strongly last night. So happy for the prompt because it enabled me to put how I felt into words. ❤
