life tasked me
with motherhood
my answer
an enthusiastic acceptance
to comply
my heart grew up
and bigger with him
my life turned upside down
lessons learned changed
my future self
such a man now
a decent one
not a little big boy
he’s leading the charge
on the rest of his life
his determination
replaces my worry
his success now leads him
the torch is passed
with relief and validation
so proud

I can’t take credit for it, stock photo. But I loved the innocence of it. Plus my boys were blondie’s with blue eyes too. 🙂

Susi, I am so inspired , and a short haiku/senryu in response:
love blossom and boom
foeto-maternal blood flow
cord is never cut

That may or may not be true, but who wants to reach old age without them! 🙂

LOL I think he has a point in that quote! And I’d definitely find my old age unsatisfactory without them. 🙂

Thank you, Jason!! 🙂 My babies are all grown up now. Had a sentimental moment this morning reflecting on who they’ve become.
